Panarea island is the most vital of the whole Aeolian archipelago, thanks to a optimum network of accommodation and to many restaurants and pubs, always crowded and animated. This is an island showing two different faces: on one side the jet set making it one of the most famous isle in the Mediterranean and on the other a wild and unpolluted nature and one of the most beautiful bays in the archipelago: Calajunco. Generally the tourists do not climb Pizzo del Corvo, the highest point in the island (421 mt) through the path from Capo Milazzese. This is a wonderful way to discover all the islands that will appear at the horizon little by little. Once on the top Stromboli will be in front of you, dominating the sea. The natural reserve has been established in 1997 and covers 283,05 Ha. The island is part of a small archipelago made up by Basiluzzo and the rocks called Spinazzola, Dattilo, Bottaro, Lisca Nera, Formiche, Lisca Bianca and Panarelli that are all ruins of an ancient volcanic complex born from submarine eruptions.
