All this people were colonizer or conqueror of this magnificent island called Sicily. A complete tour of Sicily, from East to West, exploring the most beautiful sites along with the most attractive natural reserves. Sun, sea bathing and regional cuisine are of course included in the program.

Catania
Arrival at Catania. Meeting with the guide at 7pm at the hotel in Catania, placed in the very heart of the city centre. Briefing on the program. Dinner and overnight stay in Catania.
Etna - Taormina (2 hours hiking, + 300 mt. – 300 mt.)
Transfer to the northern side of Mt Etna. Great walk to experience the last volcanic phenomena, related to the 2002/2003 big eruption with the craters’ line called “The Bottoniera”. In the afternoon visit to Taormina, free time to visit the Greek Theatre and the small alleys of this beautiful town, built on a hill overhanging the sea. Transfer to the region of Syracuse and accommodation in farm holiday. Dinner with local recipes.
Syracuse - Vendicari Natural reserve (3 hours hiking, + 0 mt – 0 mt)
In the morning transfer to Syracuse, one of Italian’s most important archaeological centres. Syracuse was the capital of the “Great Greece” and the birthplace of Archimedes. In the afternoon walking at Vendicari Natural reserve, with its white beaches, a paradise for bird watchers and visit to the mosaics of the Tellaro Roman. In the late afternoon, visit to Noto with its wonderful baroque buildings. Dinner and overnight stay at the farm holiday.
Caltagirone - Agrigento
Transfert to Caltagirone end visit to this medieval village well know for its ceramics. In the afternoon we continue to Agrigento, walking through the remains of Greek temples in this beautiful Archeological Park. Dinner and overnight stay at farm holiday in the region of Caltabellotta.
Platani Natural Reserve - Caltabellotta
Discovery of Platani natural reserve, with its dune and white beaches. Free time for sea-bathing. In the afternoon visit to the village of Caltabellotta, village dominating the sea from its 950 mt of altitude. Dinner and overnight at the farm holiday.
Gibellina - Ségeste
Transfer to Gibellina, original amphitheater-shape town, rebuilt after the terrible earthquake of 1968. Wine tasting in a farm and transfer to Segesta. Visit to the archeological site with its greek theater and the remarkably well preserved temple. Accommodation in apartments, in a private house in the small village of Scopello. Dinner at pizzeria and overnight stay.
Zingaro Natural Reserve and Erice (4 hours hiking, + 150 mt – 150 mt)
Wonderful walking along the tranquil and wildly beautiful Zingaro Natural Reserve. Sea bathing in small beaches. In the afternoon transfer to Erice, dramatic medieval town 750 m above the sea, with its narrow streets. Free dinner and overnight stay at Scopello.
Palermo and Monreale
Transfer to Palermo, visit to the historical city centre rich in Norman churches, Arab and Byzantine domes. In the afternoon transfer to Monreale with its magnificent Norman Cathedral. Dinner and overnight stay in Palermo area.

Transfer to Palermo airport
Note: the tour leader is not authorized to guide groups in some historical sites and in the city centres. He will escort you but the visiting are self guided.
