There's a place in Sicily where the chocolate becomes ancient and mysterious tradition. In Modica, little city enclosed between the Mts Iblei, still alive an old tradition taken by the Aztecs, imported in Europe by the Spanishs during the discovery of the new world, and today just presents only in the small sicialian town.
A recipe so ancient to become myth and great source of support for an entire local community.
There is someone who thought that the benefits of all this shouldn't be only for Modica's inhabitants. There is someone who thought that the producers of great quality raw materials should collect the advantages of the commercialization.
And it's thanks to this minds that the Quetzal Cooperative decided to produce and commercialize modicane chocolate, managing the business in a serious Social Marketing way. Sharing the profits in a clear way, between all the components of the manufacturing project. Selecting the producers who sell great quality products and, at the same time, respect the working conditions of the employers. This to make the modicane chocolate, not only a profitable business, but an arguable method to increase low level economy standard.
