Guided discovery program - 9 Days / 8 nightsLooking for the soul of Sicily, the very hearth of the island between natural reserves and historic monuments. This program allows a full comprehension of the most beautiful places: starting from Catania region this tour ends in Palermo, after having crossed all the island. From Mt Etna and Taormina, to Syracuse, Ragusa and Modica all classed by UNESCO in its world heritage. Moreover Agrigento and is Greek Temples, Segesta, Piazza Armerina and the natural reserves of Pantalica and Zingaro. An easy tour without any particular difficulty to taste Sicily in every aspect. Overnight stays in farm holidays in order to taste local and typical cuisine. 
Program
Day 1: Arrival at Catania airport and visit to the town. Overnight stay in Catania
Day 2: Transfer to Taormina, visit of the town and its Greek Theatre. In the afternoon walk on the southern side of Mt Etna. Overnight stay in farm holidays in Noto region
Day 3: Guided visit to Syracuse Archeological Park. In the afternoon walk in Pantalica natural reserve, an ancient necropolis. Overnight stay in farm holidays
Day 4: Discovery of Ragusa and Modica, classified by the UNESCO
Day 5: Visit to "Villa Romana del Casale" in Piazza Armerina and Caltagirone in the afternoon
Day 6: Agrigento and the Temples Valley
Day 7: Guided visit of Palermo and in the afternoon visit to Segesta Temple
Day 8: Zingaro Natural Reserve and visit to Erice in the afternoon
Day 9: Transfer to Palermo airport
Tecnical Characteristics
Characteristics of the terrain: good paths. Slope between 200 and 300 mt. The excursion on Mt Etna is at 1800 mt and it is the most demanding. In the natural reserves there are no important slopes and the paths are very well kept, even though we suggest to practise a little bit of walk before arriving in Sicily. Daily average duration of the walks: between 2 and 4 hours.
Equipment: trekking shoes, bathing suit, sun glasses, sun cream, fleece, anorak (quilted racket from in April, May, September and October), gloves, multitasking knife, hut against the sun, sandals, 1.5 l water-bottle.
