The second edition of the Etna Sky Marathon took place Sunday November 04th on the highest active volcano in Europe. The race started on the southern side of Mt Etna and ended on the northern, running on a charming route crossing woods and lava flows.
52 participants, 21 foreigners, challenging themselves on the slopes of the giant. The landscapes were magnificent and the contrasting colours of the nature were the ideal frame for such an unusual marathon. Among the men 2 runners arrived at the same time: Marco Zanchi running for IZ Skyrunning and Bruno Vittori running for CAI di Trieste. Time: 2h56'11''. Among the women the Italian Skyrunning champion Emanuela Brizio, running for w TX Active Team, won after 3h15'05''.
